Walter Ongany

Walter serves as KAHL’s Warehouse and Cargo Handling Manager, bringing over 36 years of extensive experience in the aviation and air cargo industry at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA). His career has been defined by leadership in perishable cargo logistics, with a deep understanding of the processes, standards, and partnerships required to maintain integrity across the cold chain.

Walter built his distinguished career at Flower Wings Kenya Limited, where he held several critical roles, including Export Documentation Officer, Operations Supervisor, Assistant Operations Manager, and ultimately Operations Manager for perishable cargo exports. In these roles, he played a key part in coordinating cargo flows, ensuring compliance with international export standards, and liaising with government regulatory bodies.

He later joined Total Touch Cargo Limited as Operations Manager, where he continued to oversee perishable cargo handling and export compliance, before bringing his wealth of experience to KAHL. Now leading warehouse and cargo handling operations, Walter ensures that perishable goods move seamlessly through KAHL’s cold chain facilities, enabling small and medium-sized horticultural exporters to access regional and international markets reliably and on time
